Kongregate Server 2 EndGame Mage theory! Mage buddy system
Currently our server (and our guild) has an over abundance of mages getting closer and closer to the high end entertainment provided by Wartune. The easy solution? 2 Mage teams! While I'll admit, sometimes it can be easier to run with a solo mage and 2x archers, there just aren't enough archers to go round' for everyone. So we should resort to sharing our awesome archers and putting a split workload on mages. The big catch to this... The final boss of both level 70 mps has a hidden timer. If you don't kill it fast enough, it will auto-wipe your group! Oh noes Note: There is also a random 2nd boss on the Samsara Dungeon that will cast reflect all the time and heal for tons of hp (similar to level 9 of Spire, but much more difficult.)
The secret to success? Teamwork! If you use 2 mages, there just simply isn't as much single target dps to be had as opposed to a group with 2 archers. Sad fact, but it is what it is. After playing around with it, we've come up with what seems to be close to the ideal situation to put your group in for success.
The Damn Mage
Simply put, this mage has Damnation and full heals. This should be the main healer in the group, and should try to keep damn up as much as possible. The Talents go a long way in helping this mage rock out the mps. It helps your solo archer keep the dps going, as well as your tank and other mage to a lesser extent (unless your tank is bago, then Damnation just helps you win all around.)
Skillbar: LB - Damnation - Sun (or Puri) - Resto - BL
The DPS/Support Mage
Your backup mage needs to be able to lay semi-constant damage while taking up slack where possible. It's mighty nice of you to pick up sun or puri (I prefer puri for the cheaper rage consumption) for your Damn Mage. Outside of that role, you should be dropping Thunderer's and LB's till your blue in the face while being mindful of when you're gonna need to drop that supporting BL and saving rage for it prior.
This Mage Duo works great together in MPs and helps your archer not feel so alone in the dps realm. That hidden 1hit kill cooldown can sneak up on you before you know it. It's nice to not have to worry about it as much with some serious damage throughout the fight!
Not a bad idea to track down and start working on your team building before you get to the 70's! _________________ Though her face is ugly, her eyes don't match Take it from me, she's a better catch If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life Never make a pretty woman your wife So for my personal point of view Get an ugly girl to marry you
